The notch party is not ending anytime soon. An unannounced ZTE smartphone was recently spotted at the iF World Design sporting not one, but two notches.

It looks like the ZTE Iceberg will be the first smartphone to have two notches. According to the World Design entry, the device will have a notch on both ends of the display, hinting to an "interactive function of the system." Unfortunately, it was not mentioned what exact function it will do.
ZTE was probably thinking “two is always better than one” when designing its new concept phone, and deciding to add two notches. The ZTE Iceberg, as it’s referred to, has a notch on the top and bottom, according to renders shared leaving the rest as an edge-to-edge display.

The bottom notch contains the phone’s

  • front-facing speake

 while the top notch contains

  •  selfie camera, a  for
  •  ambient light sensor
  •  earpiece for phone calls.
Rather than having a metal chassis holding the front and rear glass together, another slab of glass seamlessly connects the front and rear glasses to make the phone feel like it's a "fragment of ice". This is where the "Iceberg" name makes total sense for the handset. The phone also has wireless charging.

So far, that's all we have about the ZTE Iceberg. The entry states a launch date of "after 2018" with development time of 13 - 24 months, and target regions of Asia, Europe, and North America.
